The needle arts were an important part of a young lady’s education in days past. In this exhibit is a treadle Singer sewing machine. A cabinet is filled with antique quilts – another of the important needle arts. (Quilts were first made for warmth but also for creative outlet.) A display of antique clothing is hung in a wardrobe. Quilting, sewing, knitting, and embroidery projects are shown in progress. |

The collection of clothing, furniture, tools and decorative arts will raise and answer questions on the work and tastes of Lampasans long ago. |
Music

The museum has a wide-ranging music collection. At one time, Lampasas County was home to the Lampasas Conservatory of Music, an opera house, and produced a nationally known recording artist, Dale McBride. The museum owns a Victrola; an Edison phonograph with 30 disks; a Wurlitzer Simplex MultiSelector jukebox; and an early radio. The museum also owns a Crown upright piano; a bugle played in the American Legion Corps; and a horn played in the Lampasas Municipal Band. |
